Treatment for PTSD - Accelerated Resolution Therapy
I love to do Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)! It's an eye movement therapy that helps the brain and body reprocess negative sensations and images remembered from traumatic events and replace them with positive ones.  If it is frightening to think re-experiencing the bad things that happened, ART does not work that way.  You don't have to talk about details or do it repeatedly over many sessions. ART works quickly to reduce distress and discomfort.  ART helps for other problems like depression, anxiety, phobias, pain and grief, including replacing distressing images of the death of a loved one or other person who has passed. It is very helpful if you have had the painful experience of finding someone who is dead or have a person you cared about who committed suicide.
Talk Therapy
I have worked as both an Occupational Therapist and Psychologist. I integrate therapy techniques that work best for you into our conversations including Cognitive Behavior (CBT) Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Solution Focused, ART, Positive Psychology and Somato-Respiratory Integration (breath/body healing).

I can help you cope with living with a long term illness or disability or life threatening illness such as cancer. I will support you with a plan if you need medical leave from work and with return to work.

Positive Psychology starts where other therapy models end. The focus is on moving beyond recovery to flourishing. It teaches us about self acceptance and happiness. It helps us pay attention to successes and positive experiences, and to redefine self esteem and striving. The skills are easy to include in sessions.

Somatic Respiratory Integration includes 12 brief exercises that  help the brain and body reconnect by combining breath, body positions, and statements that acknowledge the stage of suffering or growth we are in and help move through them. It was developed by a chiropractor in the US, Donny Epstein.
"It's impossible,"said pride. It's risky," said experience.
"It's pointless," said reason."
"Give it a try," whispered the Heart.
